Counselling in Kingston Upon Thames

Home. Headshot2

Welcome to my website. I am a qualified and experienced psychodynamic counsellor offering both short and long term counselling. My practice is in a quiet location and offers a safe and welcoming space for you to explore your current difficulties.

There may be many reasons why you might be considering counselling. You may be experiencing a major life event, personal crisis or challenge and may be finding it difficult to work through this on your own. Counselling is useful for anyone who is interested in exploring their inner thoughts and feelings and wishing to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and a greater level of self awareness.

As a therapist I have experience working with adults in community based counselling services in London and Hampshire and have also worked therapeutically with children within a primary school setting. In addition to my private work I also work with young people at a senior school and am passionate about supporting young people to help build their emotional resilience during the challenging times in their lives.

I have a particular interest in perinatal mental health, the parent-infant relationship and its influence on future emotional development. I have experience working in a postnatal counselling service working with postnatal depression, postnatal PTSD and birth trauma.

I work with people who are struggling with a wide range of difficulties including:

  • Addictions
  • Anxiety
  • Bereavement
  • Depression
  • Eating disorders
  • Family issues
  • Infertility
  • Low self esteem
  • Miscarriage
  • Pregnancy and birth
  • Redundancy
  • Relationship issues
  • Self harm
  • Sexuality
  • Stress

Prior to training as a counsellor I spent over 10 years working in Human Resources for a number of organisations in the voluntary and higher education sector. I have also worked in a consultative capacity for a number of small charities in the voluntary sector delivering coaching, mentoring, mediation and outplacement support.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I adhere to their professional code of conduct and ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy.

If you are feeling anxious, depressed or unable to cope and would like to talk to a counsellor, please do get in touch. My practice is in Kingston Upon Thames and within easy reach of Walton on Thames, Esher, Weybridge, Surbiton and Cobham.
