Counselling in Kingston Upon Thames

Home. Headshot5

Welcome to my website. I am a BACP registered and experienced psychodynamic counsellor offering both short and long term counselling to adults and young people (16-25 years). My practice is in a quiet location in central Kingston Upon Thames and offers a safe and welcoming space for you to explore your current difficulties.

People come to counselling for many reasons. You may be experiencing a major life event, personal crisis or challenge and may be finding it difficult to work through this on your own. Counselling is useful for anyone who is interested in exploring their thoughts, feelings and behaviours and wishing to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and a greater level of self awareness.

I have a particular interest in perinatal mental health, the parent-infant relationship and supporting parents with the transition to parenthood and beyond. I work in a postnatal counselling service supporting both mums and dads with a variety of difficulties such as postnatal depression, anxiety and birth trauma.

I also have experience as a school counsellor in primary and secondary education and am passionate about supporting young people to help build emotional resilience during the challenging times in their lives. I have helped young people with a range of difficulties such as anxiety, exam stress, gender and identity, low self esteem and relationship struggles with family and friends.

Prior to training as a counsellor I spent over 10 years working in Human Resources in the voluntary and higher education sector. I have also worked as a consultant for a number of small charities in the voluntary sector delivering coaching, mentoring, mediation and outplacement support.

Clients come to me for help with a wide range of issues. Some of the difficulties I am experienced in helping with are:

  • Anxiety
  • Bereavement
  • Depression
  • Eating disorders
  • Family issues
  • Infertility
  • Low self esteem
  • Miscarriage
  • Perinatal loss
  • Pregnancy and birth
  • Redundancy
  • Relationship issues
  • Sexuality
  • Stress

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I adhere to their professional code of conduct and ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy.

I welcome you to my private practice in Kingston Upon Thames where I offer face to face, telephone and online counselling.
